> Toden documentation. For the full index fetch /llms.txt. Every page is available as Markdown by appending .md to its URL. Identity verification uses /api/kyc, Risk Intelligence uses /api/v1; they are separate contracts with different error shapes. Never invent an endpoint, field or enum value: read the API reference page for the operation first.

# Risk Intelligence: start here

> An overview of Toden Risk Intelligence: screening, transaction monitoring, wallet screening and Travel Rule, with videos and where to start.

Verification tells you who a customer is. Risk Intelligence tells you what to do next: whether to allow a payment, whether a customer has appeared on a sanctions list, whether a crypto deposit comes from a risky wallet. It is always called from your backend with a secret key.

## Start here

#### [Quickstart](/risk-intelligence/quickstart)

Send a sandbox transaction and read its decision.

#### [How it fits together](/risk-intelligence/overview)

Customers, decisions, monitoring and cases.

#### [API reference](/api-reference/risk-intelligence)

Every `/api/v1` endpoint, with an explorer.

> **Warning**
>
> A risk decision that could not be made is never an approval. If a call fails or times out, hold the action or apply your own fallback rule.

## Watch: the four jobs

Short videos recorded in the Toden console. The written guides beside each one cover the same ground in full.

### Transaction monitoring

You will see what a per-payment allow, review or block decision is, where the rules are set, and how a payment, its decision and the follow-up stay together. Written guide: [Transaction rules](/risk-intelligence/monitoring/transaction-rules).

### Sanctions screening

You will see how screening is switched on in a workflow, how ongoing monitoring works, and where the checks appear on a verification. Written guide: [Screening](/risk-intelligence/screening/screening).

### Wallet screening

You will see how to screen one wallet by hand, read the result and the rule behind it, and screen new crypto transactions automatically. A screening result is evidence for your decision; it does not prove a wallet is clean. Written guide: [On-demand wallet screening](/risk-intelligence/crypto/wallet-screening).

### Travel Rule

You will see how a Travel Rule is drafted and tested, and what happens to outgoing, incoming and self-hosted wallet transfers when details are missing. Written guide: [Travel Rule](/risk-intelligence/travel-rule/overview).
